So Sunday and Monday were very bleh. I am still very sick but I think (hope?) I am getting better. Sunday I stayed in all day and Monday I went to Safeway to buy some food and then made a poster for preschool.

I was very proud of the posters!
This song is totally inappropriate..but I love it.

Also on Monday I made James' board buddy gift for him...the theme was Summer Camp Arts and Crafts

And we decorated a bottle for PENNY WARS! GO DRAGONSAURS.
I included a hot meter to see how hot we are =P

***stop here if you dont want to read about my complaining***

Tuesday was UGH. I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed (even though there is only one side). Woken up very early=not happy. Well I managed to go back to sleep. I was all ready to go to Jumpstart today then I start coughing like crazy (AHHHHHH) another day of work gone. So I decided to spare my teammates and not infect little children.. I stayed home. I was really excited to cook my potatoes that I got from Safeway on Monday. I made curry the other day and it just wasn't the same without potatoes. Anyways..so I get the potatoes out (turns out I don't know where the peeler is) so I knife it bare. Then I go to make rice and the first cup was okay. Then on the second cup I noticed it looked dark..like dusty. So I look around in the rice bag, unknowingly mixing the good rice with MOLDY rice. YUCK! Talk about grosssss. SO I threw all the rice away. No curry with potatoes for me.

It's okay. I decided to make yummy mash potatoes and I had a pizza quesadilla. Yum! Then I decided to call the bank today to see if I could get my online banking to work without having to go all the way to the shattuck branch. So after being on hold for 20 minutes, I was told that I still have to go to the branch. FINE! So after getting ready, I head to the bank. I was walking as I saw the bus leaving the stop from across the street. CRAP. SO I decide to run..maybe I can catch it. HAH..yeah right..with the cold air and my fat..and my sore/dry/scratchy throat. I was only able to run halfway to the next stop until I gave up. So I just walked to the telegraph and bancroft stop where all the buses stop. I got to the bank at like 5:45pm..whew..I made it. Then the banker tells me that the online banking office closes at 5pm. GRREATTT. just great. He couldn't have told me this right off the bat? Instead he had me sitting there while he clicked his mouse like a maniac..(or maybe he was just playing minesweeper =)) So I left, cursed the bank and headed over to Alex's to make cake truffles. I went into his Apt. but he wasn't home so I just let myself in. (Don't worry..I didn't break in..and I told him yesterday) As I turned on the light, half scared that there was a body on his futon (just his comforter), I see ANTS! Ugh..my two things that I hate A LOT... ants and walking! HAHA..just kidding?..i mean MOLD and ANTS. I took away the orange juice causing the ants and went looking for the hideout. The ants made quite a journey. So by this time, Alex had returned and I go to make the cake balls. But it was getting to Circle K meeting time so I only got to make 3 chocolates. I guess I will have to post pictures and see how it tastes tomorrow.

Meeting was good..executive board nominations were interesting..some very unexpected! It was so hot in the room. Then I went to get Kimchi fried rice because I didn't eat dinner and I came back and made some corn soup. Now I'm about to take a dayquil and go to sleep. I want to go to class and work tomorrow. I can feel myself falling behind.

To a better tomorrow. I think the rain is stopping!

PS. My sister sent this pictue mosaic to me..pretty cool. Except you have to stand like really really far away to see it. =)

My sister emailed this to me on Friday. How great is that? My mom included me in the card =)
LOL! Then I get another email from my sister and there is a different card saying "Hi Kids" OMG..a two sided card? lol..no just two cards..one for me and my sister and one for my cousins too. HAha..how economical. I love it!

This is a card I sent to my sister last year during the summer.
I just love this card.

Happy valentines day. I spent the day hanging out with James, lounging, watching tv, etc. Very laid back, very low key. No flowers, no presents. We went to dinner at Koryo in the Village on Blake and Telegraph. Cool place with a fondue place that we might check out. And we also saw an oxygen bar...do those people in there have too much money? $15 for 15 minutes..yes..too much money. Anyways, while eating out dinner, there were 4 girls at the table next to us. It was interesting hearing their valentines day complaints about their crushes/people who don't notice. =) that was me a few years back..except i only listened...maybe. Then it was time for dessert! We went to Walgreens to buy ice cream and then headed to Alex's for some board game fun. I had a moldy colored green velvet cupcake. It was definitely way better than the ones we made on thursday.

I am still sick and every morning I wake up with different ailments. I have been stuck at home friday, sat, and sunday...except for a few hours sat night. Sigh..I hope I get well soon.

I noticed the cherry blossoms are in bloom and they are really pretty.

Last week we went to the movies. On the way we stopped by to get CANDY! I love gummy bears. They never fail to cheer me up. Tuesday was a crappy day. I ate all of my gummy bears.

This is preschool on Tuesday. Yeah..I'm not sure what that says.

This is preschool on Thursday. Notice the huge difference?? She actually spelled her name right. All the letters in the right order. OMG..I'm so proud! *tear*

This is the finished product of all the partner children.

This is Brianna with her doll. Isn't she adorable?

This is the biker gang. j/k

On Thursday, it was just 4 of the usual 6 Jumpstart members. So our team leader, Alice, drops us off at the preschool and left. I had the honor of leading the class because our team leader had to wait for her phone. It was total chaos. Kids were wandering around and not paying attention. But luckily today we had stickers for them..Heart ones! I bribed them to sit and listen. HAHA.. We waited at preschool until 5:10pm when we usually leave at 4:30pm. We were the last ones there =( felt like elementary school again when I would be like there really late and have to go into the office and call my mom. hehe..then at the planning meeting, we got LUNCHABLES! Omg..it's a very nostalgic day. Anyways...then I went to play with Alex. He had to do his Teach for America Application so while he worked on that, Jeff, Nina and I baked.

First we made red velvet cake. As u can see...this is just brown velvet cake. Then we mixed in the frosting to make the insides of the truffles. Again, not very pleasant looking.

Alex tried to melt the chocolate on the stove..LOL..he ended up turning on the wrong burner and burnt his oven mitts and then he accidently pan fried the chocolates. Obviously he had other things on his mind. LOL. Then we melted the chocolates in the microwave and coated the cakeballs.

Finished product..sorta =) Decadent bliss.

It is too bad it looks nothing like the original. LOL

It was a nice try. We should try again sometime...maybe with a different cake. Or even cake mix. We also made the Sprinkles Cupcakes, made from cake mix from the popular Sprinkles stores in LA.

Things of beauty. SOOO increadibly delicious. The cake is to die for...but the frosting is wayyyyy to sweet for me...I had to scrape it off. But nonetheless, delicious. A great way to start my weekend.

PS. It hailed twice this week. Awesome? Not really. It's cold and I'm sick. =(

SO this weekend was full of activities! On Friday I woke up super early for discussion. Then went home, watched tv, slept. Then I went to another discussion and then New Member Orientation. it was cool..we played Catch Phrase and I think that got everyone all riled up. Then after the orientation, there was supposed to be a dinner social...yeah..little did I know that everyone was just gonna leave and it wasn't even a dinner social. Totally got ditched..haha..oh well. At least I got to eat with Alex, Mimi, and Kenneth. ALex and I were really sad though..we wanted to go to Mainstacks and play sardines with our family, but since we thought there was a dinner social we made it later..but then it just got too complicated. AHHH..stupid planning problems. SO we didnt get to play but then we went to shattuck to watch He's Just Not That Into You. But it was sold out! hah..just our luck right?! But we went to Emeryville and it was a really good movie! SO great!!!!! so it was me, Cheriz, Alex, and Kenneth. The entire ride there and sometimes throughout the movie, Cheriz and I would comment on Alex's relationship issues...then Kenneth joined in too. HAH! its only because we love him. =)

On saturday I was supposed to go to ROCK. But I woke up and wasn't feeling well and couldnt go. ahh..but I also couldn't sleep afterwards either. sigh..more tv. I went to have dinner with Alex at Thai Noodle House. We had this sudden urge to bake so we went to safeway and got all the ingredients. MMMMM..irish car bomb cupcakes!

These are from the site where we got the recipe.

It was so awesome! I had so much fun mking it. SO this cake consisted of Guinness Beer and a little bit of baileys. we invited people over to taste it and the consensus...delicious! im so happy that it came out perfect!

so we played games and hung out. IT was 230 when we left alex's. We called for the owl shuttle...UGHHHH..they are so retarded. James and I waited ONE FREAKEN HOUR outside for the shuttle. We could have just taken the bus but the person lied and said the shuttle was on the way. THen finally after 30 minutes from when I called and they said it was one the way....they arrived. But no..they didnt come pick us up. They just parked there...and I was like WTFFFFF....ugh..so i went up to them and asked. so RETARDED!!! DONT EVER TRUST THE OWL SERVICE!

ANd Sunday was an adventure day in San Francisco!! Even though the weather was gloomy, Alex, James and I braved the cold/rain and explored SF. We first took the bart to powell, got on the muni and stopped at UCSF. Looks nice there..except we had to climb a GIGANTIC hill to get to the street/buildings. I was tired. We walked around for like 20 minute and then we were done. haha..pretty small.but still very nice..i like it. THen we went to Haight/Ashbury...uhmmm..yeah..wayyyy overrated. we waled around..saw some cool toy shops but otehr than that..nothing impressive.

we ate our brunch and was on our way to Japantown. MANNNN...i had to suppress my growing urge to buy random stuff that I dont need. all the trinkets, dolls, stickers, pens, and lots more..I really wanted to buy stuff. haha..we took lots of funny pictures and then left. I am totally exhausted.

goodnight!

PS: Alex and I are making the chocolate red velvet balls soon. Ever since he posted it on his blog, I have not been able to stop thinking about them...am I a fatty? lol

I also played with potato heads today at preschool. It's amazing how much fun they can be.

So today it rained. The kids were crazy at preschool. I got scratched..but I don't even know how. Then I went to the training and we got pizza =)

So I went to Kiwanis Family Committee Meeting and then Spirit and Social Committee Meeting. They were both pretty fun today. So at KFC the ice breaker was "what is your favorite word?" Everyone said really smart sounding words...and I said that my favorite word is "eww" and I say it when I am really interested in something, not when something is yucky. It's like a "OOoo" that comes out as "eww". haha...then we wrote the word Family and then another word that we think of when we hear the word family..and then another word for the previous word..and so on.

here's mine:

Family
Loving people
Always there for you
Makes you feel better when sad
Ice cream

=) yum

then at spirit and social we did pictionary charades. mine was too easy but this one is vincent's and it's really cute.

Now I am watching the Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice super event. Here is a quote from tonight's episode:

"alone people don't like to hear about together people, even if s/he is alone by choice"

*sorry this is an emo post

So this past weekend I was home. Then I went to Ontario/Rancho Cucamonga for District Board meeting. I've realized something this past weekend. I am a very emotional person. I'm not sure when it started but almost anything can make me tear up. There is this sadness in me that lingers. I can't get rid of it and there is nothing I can do about it. I guess it's the thought of the future that is fast approaching that scares me. I don't like change. Nope, not one bit at all. I remember when I first moved to Berkeley. I cried for a month. I cried all the way up and continued to cry. Then every time I went home and then left again, I always felt this knot in my throat as I tried to hold back the tears. After 4 years, it's better now. But as we head into our last semester of college, I can't help but be sad and sentimental. Cheriz wrote a song this weekend about our time in Circle K. I couldn't help but tear up at the beauty of the lyrics and her voice. It is very rare to hear her sing and then combined with the lyrics, tears just kept flowing. I know that some people are staying in norcal and some will be in socal. I just hope that people still keep in touch. I am really bad at keeping in touch. I don't like to call people, yet I like to hear what they have been doing etc. I guess what I am really scared of is losing friends due to not seeing them all the time/living far away/or simply because we were never that good of friends to begin with and it's too much trouble to keep in touch. Sounds horrible but it happens. Acquaintances that you meet and say hi to just because you see them all the time...but I know nothing about them and they know nothing about me. Whenever I go to Circle K meetings/events I feel that way. Like I know people's names but that is pretty much it. I guess I find it hard to strike a conversation when I know ultimately that we will never be good friends. Is it because I am too closed? I don't really like to share stuff about my personal life. I'm not sure what it is but I don't know 1 person that knows everything about me. (dont be offended if you read this post..there are people who I share my thoughts/ideas/feeling with but just not everything...I guess different people know different parts of me) It's weird how I can't say what I want to say yet I want to. Like I can listen to someone else for hours and give opinion/advice/comments but rarely do I reciporcate that open honesty. I have been trying to be more conversational due to the pubic speaking class I am taking. But the only thing is..as people are talking to me all I do is listen. I never have the urge to share anything about myself. I mean the important things that I am thinking. I want to have that connection that I see in other people.

I guess this is something I must work on..but is it too late? I sure hope not.

PS: I have been having strange dreams.
