So Thursday was my last day of work at Fisher Center. I was really sad about leaving. I have spent the past 3 and a half years working there. Can you believe it? A shy freshman, now all grown up and leaving. When Mary, one of my supervisors, started giving a speech, I just started bawling. I wouldn't help it. I mean I saw these people every week and even during the summer! I can't believe that I won't be going in to do random office work or stuff envelopes or fax a million sheets of paper. Ahhh I will the super fun parties the most. It seems like every month we would have some sort of birthday celebration, a celebration just because, or a holiday celebration. They throw the best parties. Some that I remember: cupcake party (huge assortment of cupcakes), ice cream sundae, new york style party, bell in jello, going away parties. Ahh, they even throw parties for me =) One time they threw a party and I wasn't there. LOL..they had a party anyways. When I turned 21, one of the people in the office kissed me..haha..he was a very good looking foreigner (a visiting scholar?)
So anyways, at my going away party, they prepared a present for me. I got an alumni hat, a metal water bottle, my very own envelope sealer (i used this a lot), and a huge fisher center golf umbrella (the umbrella is like 3 feet tall).
They are amazing. I also had a really really delicious tres leche cake.
I forgot to mention that every time after their semi-annual board meeting that we spend a long time preparing, they always bring me back something fun from Pebble Beach. I have a tie-dye shirt, a pink shirt, a hat, a candle, a bear, a mug, I know there's more..but I don't remember.
But I love the people I worked with and I hope that where ever I go, I will meet people as awesome as them.
ps. the title reference is..when I was going to pick up my reception tickets, I was carrying the umbrella. Some guy comes up to me and asks "excuse me, do you think it will rain today?" i said "no, i don't think so. The weather is pretty nice. I just got this umbrella as a gift" LOL..it was like 80 degrees or something. how cute =)
also, I got a cool business card holder, a sticker, a pen, and jellybeans from the haas alumni people. I guess that's the only good thing about being a business major.

I hope someday I can get a job where it feels like being a part of a family like that. It sounds like you had a great experience :).
Amy... you cry so often. lol. I'm a bit jealous, actually.
